Marching Through the Civil War
at the Kenosha Civil War Museum

Hosts: Tom & Mary Lynn and Ron & Linda

UPDATE #1 (Jan 23, 2013)

Kenosha Civil War Museum
March 03, 2013

Looking for something a little different to do this March?

Ron & Lin Carlson, Mary Lynn, and I are going to advance our troops down south for a little history tour. Although we had to go a little ahead in time, (we moved the date to Sunday the 3rd March), the plan is to muster in Kenosha and go back in time to examine our Wisconsin and Midwest history during the Civil War era. Maybe you'll set your sights on local history, or it might be national, or it might even be family history, but I guarantee you'll reconnoiter about the Civil War and the Midwest.

We're forging ahead to the Civil War Museum in the Kenosha Public Museum Complex for a 2 hour private guided tour, some self-guided exploration and dinner at The Ashling on the Lough, an Irish restaurant.

Entrance to the Kenosha Museum is $8.00 per person. This includes the guided portion of our visit through the Civil War Museum and access to all the exhibits that the Kenosha Public Museum offers.

Afterwards those that would like can march up the street to The Ashling on the Lough for a pint and a bite of dinner.

The time line for this historic trek is easy to follow;

  • Let either Ron or myself know that you plan on joining us at least a week before event.
  • Meet us in front of the Civil War Museum inside the Kenosha Museum for the guided tour at 2:00 PM on March 3rd. (And remember you can come early to enjoy some of the other museums as well), I'll be there at about 1:00 PM.
  • At 5:00 PM we'll form up and march down the road for dinner at The Ashling on the Lough. Where we'll have drinks and a good Irish dinner.
  • Then you'll retreat home to contemplate your historic life when the conversation and reminiscing ends.

So let us know if you'd like to join us for this interesting and informative trip down memory lane.
