Update #2 (June 8, 2014)
Joanne and I and our new 2013 MX-5 Club, have been busy planning the route and organizing the stops for the W and W Tour. We have the route and stops just about nailed down and will spend some time this weekend with the arduous task of selecting wine and whiskey for your tasting enjoyment! The tentative schedule begins at 11:00 am at the Hill Country Market located at Hwy. 50 and County Rd. B in Salem, WI. This is also the site of Breezy Hill Nursery and Garden shop offering a unique collection of decorative garden items. Here we will enjoy lunch and people can choose to taste a few wines before starting out on the first leg of our journey, approximately 1hr 20 minutes of leisurely driving culminating in our stop at Ye Olde Hotel in Lyons, WI. This will be a brief ( 25- 35 min) stop which also includes Tattered Leaf Designs, a quaint flower and gift shop which may be of interest to some participants. From there, we start on the second driving leg of approximately 90 minutes arriving at Brightonwoods Orchard which also includes Aeppeltreow Winery & Distillery. Here we will have the opportunity to sample locally made wines and spirits in addition to the fine selection of apples from the orchard. We will then make a short 5 to 10 minute drive to Michaels on the Lake for dinner. This event will be limited to 20 cars. Update #3 (September 7, 2014) Our event date is only a few days away and we have finalized the itinerary. 11:00 am - Begin gathering at Hill Country Market Hwy 50 and County Road B in Salem, WI. 11:00 to 12:45 - Box lunch available along with Wine Tasting 12:45 - Drivers Meeting 1:00 - Depart on first driving leg approximately 1 hr 15 min. 2:15 - Arrive Ye Olde Hotel and Tattered Leaf Designs in Lyons, WI for a 30 to 45 min. stop 3:15 - Depart on second driving leg approximately 1 hr 20 min. 4:35 - Arrive Brightonwoods Orchard and Aeppltreow Winery and Distillery for a self directed wine and whiskey tasting 5:15 - Depart on short 10 to 15 minute drive for dinner at Michels on the Lake where you will be able to order from the menu Registration: To register for this event, contact Tim Deadrick at deadricktim@yahoo.com Attendance List (posted Sept 12, 2014)
