Beckman Mill Ride

Marty & Colleen Densch

Update #3 (September 9, 2015)

Beckman Mill is a restored 19th century gristmill located in Newark Township about 6 miles west of Beloit. The Friends of Beckman Mill formed 25 years ago to restore the mill back to its former glory and to fully operational condition. For more information check out their web site www.beckmanmill.org. Also, see Marty's flyer.

We meet at the PDQ on the corner of McKee Road/PD and Nesbitt Road in Verona for a planned departure at 9am. From there we embark on a spirited drive on twisty rural roads through Paoli, Albany, Brodhead, and the forgotten village of Avon before arriving at Beckman Mill Park at approximately 11am. Participants will park their Miatas on the lawn in front of Beckman Mill for a show-and-shine the rest of the day. Participants also will get a private tour of the mill (time permitting) prior to the Friends of Beckman Mill 25th anniversary events which will begin at approximately 1pm. Those events will include a keynote address from Wisconsin Department of Tourism Secretary, Stephanie Klett. Refreshments will be available for purchase.

The event officially ends at Beckman Mill Park and participants are on their own for the return home. They are welcome to stay as long as they'd like and enjoy the food and other activities in the park.

It has been confirmed that an ND Miata will be on this drive drive.
