Update #2 (May 18, 2016)
Put on a funny hat (best one gets a prize), and meet a bit west of Madison. After gassing up and getting instructions (giggles permitted), we'll wiggle our cars around fun curves on the way to Spring Green. Some of you may remember this spirited and squiggle-y route from a previous Sharon/Peter extravaganza. We'll stop at Culvers and then wind our way north. It's back to Spring Green for lunch at RumbleSeats, the rock-and-roll drive-in. Bring your favorite toy so we can giggle while we eat. After that, we'll head southwest to Mount Horeb to taste some made-on-the-spot, artisan chocolate (you'll love it). It's now mid-afternoon, and time to get ready for happy hour. So we'll stop for a spot of beer. A few giggles later, we'll all be squirrelly enough for a real happy hour and food at Arthur's, a local supper club near Spring Green. Weather permitting - and if you're interested - you can stargaze at our house. By 9:00, you'll be able to see Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, a first-quarter moon and deep-sky squiggles outside our solar system. Itinerary: 8:30 gathering, Kwik Trip, 7583 West Mineral Point Road, Middleton, 3 miles west of Hwys. 12 & 14 on Madison's west side A slight change in starting place: Gas up, etc., at the Kwik Trip, 7583 West Mineral Point Road, Middleton, WI. Kwik Trip is about 3 miles from Mineral Point Road exit off Highway 12/14 (Madison West Beltline). For driver's meeting at 8:45, turn left back onto Mineral Point Road. Drive past K & A Greenhouses (which is next door to Kwik Trip) to second driveway into West Middleton School. We leave at 9:00. Important! Please let me know if you're NOT joining us for dinner.
