Mississippi River Drive

Update #1 (July 5, 2017)

The meandering journey will begin in Boscobel at the Kwik Trip on Hwy 61, just off Hwy 60. Please be there by 8:30 for the meeting as we will be leaving at 9:00 AM sharp.

We will be rolling through the curves and hills heading north on Hwy 35 – The Great River Road – to take in the sights, scenery, and enjoy the winding roads. We will be traversing several easterly roads and then navigating back to view the River from the bluffs.

There is a planned stop at the Genoa Dam and Docks. The journey will continue to Chaseburg were we will take a step back in history at Hidwaway Tavern on Hwy 162. After lunch we will make our way to La Crosse Grandad Park where we will divide the group into 2 groups: one group will be sight seeing at Grandad Park and the other group will be visiting NOAH (National Weather Service) in La Crosse – this is a private tour by Terry and Kathy Reick’s son. After about 20-30 minutes at the one place, the groups will switch, so all will get to see both options.

From there we will twist our way to Viroqua for dinner around 4:30 pm at Gasser’s Bar & Grill on Hwy 61 in Viroqua.
